In the age of declining funds, and the need for greater ADA in today’s schools and programs, online marketing is becoming more important.

As a part time evening computer lab instructor at Wilshire ESL Center in Fullerton, California, I have put some of my skills to both help popularize our program on the internet, but also to bring more attention to the possiblities the internet has to offer for my adult English as a Second Language students. A few months back I created an unofficial website, very similar to this one, with basic information about the school. Later, photos were added on one of my photo sites. Then, we started a Twitter account to post our news and have a news feed on the front page of our site. Recently, a YouTube account was started, and videos of ESL students promoting the school followed. Visit the website and let us know what you think: http://OCBlogs.info/ESLWilshire

I offer a variety of free edu-social resources, and you can learn more about them at: http://TeachMeHelpMe.com

Let me know how I can be of assistance, by leaving a constructive comment below.

Learn the latest online education trends and skills by participating in the yearly Online Teaching Conference.

As a former presenter and participant, I was in awe at the variety of presentations, and the large number of online teaching experts that gave feature workshops and webinars in beautiful Aptos, California, a few months ago in 2009.

Presentations ranged from promoting online learning and retention for hybrid instruction programs, to trends and demographics of K-12 technology users. My presentation, “Hybridize your Regular Classroom with Free and Low Cost Resources”, centered on a variety of free online tools regular school teachers can use to bridge the digital divide with their students.

To learn more about the Online Teaching Conference and all its offerings, please visit: http://onlineteachingconference.org
